Successful partnerships producing winning results

11th January 2024

Supported Living Gateway and care provider AFG collaborated to complete a new supported living development in Macclesfield, providing modern care housing for four adults with learning disabilities.

The development started as a vacant commercial property that was purchased and demolished to make way for the new build. Working closely with care providers, registered providers, investors, and other partners, Supported Living Gateway project managed the development from start to finish.

The new development features infrared heating, smart home technology, and high accessibility specifications to ensure residents can live independently in a comfortable, safe environment. Located in the heart of the community with easy access to shops, services, and public transport, residents are able to feel part of the neighbourhood.

Throughout the project, clear communication between all partners was key to keeping the development on track and managing expectations. Smooth collaboration between Supported Living Gateway and trusted partners AFG and the registered provider, Halo, was essential to the success of this project. Shared values and objectives kept the project on track through each stage.

The handover to AFG went smoothly thanks to their early input and continued engagement. The residents got to choose their own furniture and move-in dates. The site is now fully occupied and is a performing asset providing specialised housing with support.

AFG have said they are proud to be involved from initial idea through to completion, fulfilling their mission to provide modern housing for their service users. Ongoing collaboration with Supported Living Gateway allows them to better serve their clients.

With the Macclesfield site now complete and occupied, the Supported Living Gateway are embarking on further developments to provide quality, accessible housing across the region.

This video produced by AFG sums up the project really well:
