Supported Living Gateway Site Visits launch

Posted in: Supported Living, Posted on Tuesday, 29 March 2022, Posted By: Russ Crabtree

We're excited to launch the Supported Living Gateway Site Visits with the first one taking place in Macclesfield on the 23rd April.

I am running the event with fellow co-founder Rich Liddle, and our plan is to walk you through the project, show you the numbers and host a Q&A session at the end of the day.

The site visit is a fantastic opportunity to learn about commercial conversions and how this strategy can integrate seamlessly into supported living.

We will walk you through the specifics of the deal including finance, design, contracts and project management. Every attendee will receive a Site Visit Pack to take home including details on the build, local information and figures. There will be plenty of time to have your questions answered in the Q&A session.

This is your opportunity to:

  • Gain knowledge and understanding of commercial to residential property development
  • Ask questions face to face with the Supported Living Gateway development team
  • See us openly present all the figures and costs, including the purchase and acquisition, design, consultancy, management, development and holding costs.
  • Understand the process undertaken from engaging the design team to completion and handover of our supported living developments.
  • Learn all about the advantages of permitted development and the planning process we have taken on our schemes.
  • Find out about our exits for the development and the importance of early and consistent engagement with all associated exit partners.

This commercial premises is situated in Macclesfield and previously operated as a dive shop. We are converting it into four flats for people with learning disabilities and one office for support staff. The build is in progress so this is a fantastic time to visit and see the development live.

Conversions of this type can be filled with pitfalls along the way and we will show you how to navigate them. Cost savings often make the difference between a profitable deal and one which breaks you. We will talk about business rates, how to delist the site so you don’t have huge local authority bills, dealing with utility companies, capital allowances and the tax savings that can be utilised.
